Santenay« Les Terrasses de la Crée »

Appellation
Grey limestone covers the higher part of the hillsides, up to an altitude of 500 meters. Making our way down the hill, we find oolitic limestone, white oolite, marl and limestone nodules and inferior oolite on marly levels up to an altitude of 300 meters.

Vineyard
The vineyard is perfectly exposed to the sun (from sunrise to noon). One of the Château de la Crée's iconic plots, the vinyard is situated in the Château's enclosure.

2022

Characteristic
2022 is synonymous with a vintage of great quality and the return of satisfying volumes. After a mild and dry winter, the growing season arrived early. Spared by the April frost, the warm spring accelerated plant growth, favoring early flowering and optimal fruit set. After particularly dry spells during winter and spring, late June rains were timely. A hot, dry and at times scorching summer allowed for a good ripening, although in places the vines did react to hydric stress. Mid-August rainfall will be decisive by constant sunshine until the harvests, which started on 25th August in the Côte de Beaune and 2nd September in the Côte de Nuits.
Tasting note
The nose reveals aromas of ripe peaches but also exotic fruit such as mango. The freshness on the palate perfectly balances this wine, giving it substantial elegance. It will be particularly appreciated when paired with coarse fish and cheeses.
